Hello! Welcome to my website. I am Nitheesh Prakash, a graduate student at Virginia Tech with passion in building a secure and connected systems. My area of interest is in the field of Embedded systems, IoT and their security. My undergrad and grad courses and projects are aligned towards that.I am an passionate individual who loves to learn and grow. I am a consistent learner and I like to update my skills regularly. I always look for oppurtunities to improve myself and contribute to the society. I always believe experience provide the best lesson which I remind myself everyday. Enterprise SSD Systems Intern

  • Learned and Worked on NVMe, PCIe and Enterprise SSDs.
  • Developed nvme-cli to support NVMe-MI commands and parsed the output of the MI-command to give a human readable output.
  • Eliminated the need for BMC to execute NVMe-MI commands.
  • Verified and Tested my feature with I2C trace of SSD and on various enterprise customer servers.

Vmmouse in Rust

This repository consists of an attempt to convert the Linux kernel driver vmmouse.c into Rust.

CPU Profiler

The goal of this project is to design a CPU profiling tool. The tool will be designed as a single kernel module, which when loaded, keeps track of statistics each task on the system, like total time spent on the CPU and the number of times a task was scheduled in/out. The module will display your profiling results using the proc file system.

Linux Kernel DataStructures

The goal of this project is to get used to essential data structures in Linux Kernel. Basically, to develop a simple kernel module manipulating a module parameter and the kernel dataStructures. More specifically, the kernel module takes a comma-separated string upon its loading and it parses the given string and adds each integer numbers to the kernel dataStructures For ease of testing, we will add a file in /proc file system to print out the contents of data structures.

Healthcare worker Bot

To contribute to the healthcare system, a bot that minimizes the contact between patients and healthcare workers which decreases the probability of infection was built.

Animal Deterrent System

This system deters wild animals from entering protected areas by detecting their motion and through various deterring techniques, this system also notifies regarding the intrusion.

Smart Traffic Controller

The traffic signal system is managed by the intensity of the traffic using various sensors and 89C52.
